The Mall (William Morris and Michael Berry) and Arena Cinelounge present Highs and Lows, an experimental screening series in which mainstream pop culture comedies are paired with arthouse classics. Audiences will be shocked to see how well these pairs play together, as commonalities are collected between two unexpected films.
Confusion about what makes a film good or bad has made space for a complete re-evaluation of taste. Life’s too short to worry about a guilty pleasure, especially when so many low-brow films share similarities with your typical high-brow, repertory art-house fare. What makes a film high or low? Who gets to decide?
