Drag Queen of the Year

Drag Queen of the Year 2020

Pageant Competition Award Contest Competition

Dear Patrons and Sponsors,

Our performances and theatre activities at The Ricardo Montalbán Theatre have been temporarily
suspended. We are all abiding by "stay at home" in support of the well-being of the theatre-going
public, as well as those who work on our productions.

We are quietly developing projects that will
build excitement about our engagements with you in the near future.

WE PLAN TO UPDATE YOU WHEN OUR THEATRE AND FELLOW BUSINESSES ARE
PERMITTED TO ENGAGE IN SOCIAL EVENTS SCREENINGS AND THEATRE WITH AUDIENCES.

We have such a fun Rooftop screening season in store with special guests, Q&As with
filmmakers and even a podcast in the works. On our main stage, we will have a diverse array of
shows lining up, as soon as we receive the "Green Light" to reopen our iconic venue.

We take the health and safety of our patrons, staff and community very seriously and urge
everyone to continue to follow the guidelines set forth by public health officials at
the CDC  (Center for Disease Control and Prevention) and WHO  (World Health Organization).

For local updates, please visit the California Department of Public Health's COVID-19 Updates page

Please know that all current ticket holders’ can use their ticket(s) for the rescheduled date of
the performance/movie or request a refund. If you have not received notifications about our cancelled
or rescheduled performances, please contact us.

We appreciate your understanding and if you have any questions, feel free to email
us at info@themontalban.com.

Please stay safe!

The Montalbán Team

In 2019, in the first-ever, all-inclusive competition of its kind, the Drag Queen of the Year Pageant Competition Award Contest Competition accepted thousands of applications from all over the world, and a mysterious panel of anonymous Drag elders selected 8 of the fiercest contestants on the planet to battle it out for a crown, a sash, a bouquet of very nice flowers, and a cash prize of $10,000.

After last year’s sold out show— raising over $7,000 for the Los Angeles LGBT Center— the DQOY Pageant is back and bigger than ever.

With return performances from some of last year’s break out stars, and a panel of exclusive celebrity guest judges, the Drag Queen of the Year Pageant Competition Award Contest Competition is out to break last year’s records— and break all the rules.

All are welcome - Join us as we celebrate the art of Drag in all of its forms, and find out who will be crowned 2020’s Drag Queen of the Year.
